Trevor J. Blondo Obituary
Trevor Joseph Blondo, 36, of Altona, NY passed away peacefully with his family and friends by his side at CVPH in Plattsburgh, NY on Friday, May 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Trevor was born at CVPH on March 17, 1988, the son of Todd and Catherine (Dragoon) Blondo. He grew up in Altona and attended school at Northern Adirondack Central. While in school Trevor was active in the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduation, Trevor continued his education at the CVPH School of Radiology and then went on to study at UMass for radiation therapy. His professional career took Trevor from Malone to Ogdensburg, and finally back to CVPH where he was dedicated to his job as a radiation therapist. He was proud to be on a team focused on improving the lives of countless cancer patients.
Trevor married the love of his life, Misty (LaPoint) on May 5, 2012, at St. Bernard’s Church in Lyon Mountain. Together they have three wonderful children; Sawyer Michael, Finley Boone, and Oaklyn Grace.
If Trevor could think it, he did it. He had many interests, many of which took place outdoors. Trevor was an avid hunter and fisherman, he dabbled in trapping and enjoyed planting and taking care of Christmas trees on his parents’ property. Trevor owned and operated a sawmill business called Blondorosa Forest Products. This he did alongside his family. Trevor was an avid NASCAR fan. He especially enjoyed rooting for Dale Jarrett. Trevor had a deep faith and attended St. Edmund’s Church. He loved country music and wrote song lyrics, most of which he kept private. He could be adventurous, like the time he decided to do a cross-country trip with his family which at the time consisted of his wife and three children all under the age of three. Trevor was a pillar of the Blondo family. He was always a part of his children’s lives, as well as the lives of his extended family. Trevor was a proud member of the Altona Fire Department for 12 years. Serving his community and being there for people whenever they needed it are qualities that made Trevor stand out. Trevor had an amazing sense of humor. He was always ready with a joke or to pull a prank. He knew just when to do it to get the maximum effect or to bring a smile to someone who was having a bad day such as showing up to pump out a flooded basement while wearing a life preserver. He and his brother could go back and forth with their wit for hours. Humor was Trevor’s way right up to the end.
Trevor was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Weldon and Theresa (Boulerice) Dragoon, and his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Loretta (Chevalier) Blondo.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, children, parents, and his broski Ryan (Maria) Blondo. He is remembered by his sisters-in-law Heidi (Ryan) Buckley and Kellie (Zack) Fournia, and his father and mother-in-law Scott and Leasha LaPoint. Trevor was deeply loved by his nieces and nephews. To Weldon, Rosa, and Daniel Blondo he was known as Uncle Ding-Dong. He was also loved by his niece Layla Fournia and soon-to-arrive Belle Buckley. Trevor will be deeply missed by his aunts, uncles, and cousins. He and Misty are forever grateful to Aunt “Tia” Lisa for her round-the-clock care during the past few months.
