William Oliver LaFountain Sr., 61, of Mooers Forks, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse.

 

William was born in Plattsburgh on May 12, 1964, the son of Alfa and Shirley (Reeves) LaFountain.

 

William was a dump truck driver at CJ Trucking in Malone. He loved hunting, camping, fishing and riding side by sides. He was happiest outdoors. William was always willing to offer a helping hand to friends and family.

 

William was predeceased by his parents, Alfa L. and Shirley A. LaFountain; and a sister, Sandra Palmer and her husband, Gary Palmer; and a brother-in-law, Jeff Gibeau.

 

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou LaFountain; a son, William O. LaFountain Jr. and his wife Brittany M. LaFountain; a daughter, April LaFountain; sisters, Ann Bushey and her husband Mark, Theresa Konkoski, Betty LaBombard, Shirley Gibeau; and grandchildren, Kaytlynn LaFountain, Logan LaFountain, Abbigale LaFountain and William LaFountain III; as well as all of his nieces and nephews.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held at his son’s home, 195 Arno Rd, Ellenburg Center, NY 12934, on July 26, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. until dark.
