Yvette Marie Gebo Obituary

Yvette Marie Gebo passed away peacefully January 21, 2024  at CVPH with her niece, also her favorite person’s head resting on her pillow next to her.

She was born August 24, 1939 in Rouses Point, the daughter of Hormidos “Medos” Gebo and Eva Gebo nee Henner.

Yvette was an icon in the village of Rouses Point, she loved people and the feeling was mutual.  You could often spy her sitting on a park bench outside her favorite restaurant, Sandy’s Deli.  She  was born and raised in Rouses Point.  Over the years she could be seen pulling a lawn mower with her bike, working at the Anchorage or Holland; working the concession stand at St. Patrick’s bingo or having a beer back in the day.

She was a member of Post 912 American Legion Auxiliary, the Rouses Point Fire Department Auxiliary and the Rouses Point Sportsman's Club where she enjoyed helping with events.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Pauline Barnard, Claire Averill, Beatrice St. Pierre and Diane Marks.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

An hour of visitation will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point.  A Mass of Chrisrtian burial will follow at 11:00 a.m.

Yvette’s family wishes to thank all family and friends for their condolences; CVPH R-5 nursing staff for their amazing compassion; Champlain/Rouses Point EMS for their responses and care.  Also, a special thank you to her caretakers, Shannon Kirker, Paige Laing and Destiny Allen who helped keep her home.
