Yvonne (Perrea) Yelle

Yvonne (Perrea) Yelle, 98, formerly of Church Street, Champlain, NY passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at CVPH/UVM Health Network Medical Center, Plattsburgh, NY.  

Yvonne was born to Mary (Taylor) and Albert Perrea on August 24, 1925. She was one of eleven children and the youngest daughter. Yvonne was independent and had a vibrant personality! 

Yvonne graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Champlain, NY.  After graduation, Yvonne met the love of her life Harold at a square dance event while he was home on leave from the Army. Yvonne and Harold fell in love. Yvonne and Harold were married at St. Mary’s Church on February 27, 1954. 

Yvonne retired from Wyeth-Ayerst after 31 years where she worked in Sterile Products. She enjoyed being an active member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, On May 20, 2023 Yvonne was recognized as a 50 -year member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Yvonne is predeceased by her husband, Harold, her parents Mary and Albert Perrea, Sr., her brothers and sisters, Albert Perrea, Jr, Lilian Perrea, Irene Perrea, Patrick Perrea, Alfa Perrea, Alfred Perrea, Exzinia Perrea, Cecelia Perrea, Annette Perrea, and Clifford Perrea. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of life on Monday, November 13th, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ross Funeral Home, 2586 Route 11, Mooers, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at St. Mary’s Church, 86 Church St. Champlain, NY at 11 a.m. Donations in memory of Yvonne Yelle can be made to the VFW 1418 or the Champlain Mooers EMS and Rouses Point Fire Department.
